Pelican Bay in Naples – is a 2,104 acre (or roughly 3.29 square miles) planned unit development. Pelican Bay Life-Style

Enjoy dining at the beach pavilions, transportation via trams to the beach, tennis courts, bike and jogging paths, and fitness circuits. Boardwalks to the beach offer you the views of the nature preserve and birds unique to the area.

Beach Facilities:
The beach facilities are located directly on the Gulf of Mexico at the end of the boardwalks.

Pelican Bay’s beachside pavilions provide food service, open and covered deck areas, showers, dressing areas, and separate restrooms for both men and women. Beach chairs, cabanas, and umbrellas are available.

At the end of the south boardwalk is the Sand Bar, while at the end of the north boardwalk is the Sandpiper Beach Club. Casual atomsphere at the beachside restaurants make them a popular and inviting choice for the residents.

The Picnic Pod, located at the south end of the beach features picnic tables and gas grill.

The facilities are for the exclusive use of residents and their guests.

Many special and holiday events events are held at the beach facilities.

Boating Facilities:
A limited number of canoes are available. Some are located at the north end boardwalk, as well as at the Calm Pass Park facility to the south. In addition, there are a few sunfish and lasers also at the south end of the beach.

Tennis:
There are two locations for tennis courts:
1) Commons Park has 10 tennis courts – two hard surface courts and 8 Har-Tru courts.
2) Hammock Oak Park has another 8 Har-Tru courts, and equipped with lights for night use.

Tennis are available from the tennis pro and staff.

Parks and Nature Trails:
There are four parks within Pelican Bay:
Commons is a 10 acre park, where you will find the administrative offices of the Pelican Bay Foundation, tennis courts, tram station, shuffleboard and horseshoe courts.
Hammock Oak park in the northeast section has tennis courts, open fields, horseshoe and shuffleboard courts.
Oakmont Park has bike paths and a children’s play area, as well as a preserve of turkey oaks. Part of the park runs along the banks of lake.
Ridgewood Park, faces a lake, it has a 10 station fitness circuit, a chickee hut with picnic table, and a children’s playground.
Both boardwalks to the beach are 1,800 feet long and wind their way through mangrove forests, coastal conservation areas and over portions of the inner bay system.
