FLORIDA PROPERTY INSURANCE

Recent property insurance legislation aimed at rate relief for Floridians provides the greatest benefit to households in the highest-risk coastal areas (this could be beneficial for Naples waterfront homes and condos) – but potentially increases household premiums in less-risky areas,  according to a report commissioned by the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America.

 HURRICANE RESPONSE

During the Governor’s Hurricane Conference in Fort Lauderdale on May 16th, Gov. Charlie Crist pledged that any eventual real estate tax relief would not compromise state or county efforts to help Floridians prepare for, and respond to, hurricanes or other disasters.
